The data

Every event.
Described in full.

ACT Head Impact Tracker head sensor Pro captures a rich set of measurements, far beyond the usual maximum g-force and single angular acceleration or speed. All of the data collected can be exported to the most common spreadsheets from the Browser dashboard using the Export tool.

Coming soon: Impact Feature Space (IFS)

Patent pending

What is Impact
Feature Space?

Impact Feature Space (IFS), a patent-pending capability coming to the ACT head sensor Pro, is a multi-dimensional representation of head-movement waveforms. Each event is described across multiple mechanical domains, offering a complementary view of head-motion analysis.

IFS provides access to mechanically meaningful differences that are directly relevant to injury mechanisms – so a combination of forces can be assessed more thoroughly and accurately than with a single parameter.

Impact Feature Space

A multi-dimensional signature of each impact, patent pending.

Independently validated

3.6%

Linear acceleration you can trust

ACT head sensor accuracy has been independently validated by the LUT University (Lappeenranta) Machine Dynamics Lab against precision reference accelerometers, with a maximum deviation of just 3.6%. G-force is not only one of the parameters measured – it also acts as the trigger for event measurement.

trusted by researchers.

ACT Head Impact Tracker has been and is currently used by several universities and in multiple research projects across several countries. Studies and papers are shared on our channels as they become openly available.

Safety and Warning

Wear the sensor only in a location where impacts or pressure do not occur; if you feel pressure or discomfort, change the location. Runs on a CR2032 coin-cell battery. The sensor is not a household product certified for the USA or Canada. Keep out of reach of children and animals. ACT Head Impact Tracker is a measurement device. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, prevent, or treat concussion or any other brain injury. In a suspected head injury, remove the athlete from play and seek assessment by a licensed medical professional.
